Here's a bit of background to what Carreg Las Photography is all about...
"Framing Wales: A Photographer's Vision"
My enthusiasm for photography ignited in 2008 when I received my first digital camera. Since then, I've been capturing and sharing images that mirror the beauty and diversity of Wales.
In 2021, spurred on by the encouragement of friends, I resolved to broaden my audience by showcasing my favourite photographs online.
Residing in Aberystwyth, a coastal gem on Wales' Cambrian Coast, has afforded me an unparalleled backdrop for my photographic pursuits. The rugged coastline, undulating hills, and captivating sunsets form a photographer's paradise.
Aberystwyth's central location within Wales gives me convenient access to all three of the country's national parks, providing boundless opportunities for exploration and photographic inspiration.
While my roots lie in South Wales, Carreg Las Photography is committed to capturing the breathtaking landscapes and thrilling moments that define Wales as a whole. Stay tuned for regular updates featuring new images from my ongoing adventures."

I'm the sole photographer behind Carreg Las.
What does Carreg Las mean?
'Carreg las' is welsh for 'blue stone'.
On it's own this doesn't mean too much as it's quite uncommon to see many actual blue stones lying about.
However, in a colloquial sense bluestone is the term used to describe a certain type of rock found in North Pembrokeshire- one of the areas that I like to photograph.
Many people believe there is something special about this particular type of rock, but geologists aren't sure exactly what it is...
It is strongly believed that parts of Stonehenge are made of these bluestones, transported hundreds of miles from the Preseli Mountains far away in West Wales.
With Carreg Las photography I hope that my photographs can provide you with a tiny link to West Wales, wherever you happen to be - just like the original bluestones.
